How much satisfaction an Engineering student will get after completing his four years of insanity? There are people who have not done too well in academics but are great thinkers. Consider IIT’s pass out prima facie to have some sanity still alive in them. So many iitians do not have too good academic records in their Alma matter. Nor have they achieved a high-grade profile in iit's. Relative grading, some body has to be at the top! NEVERTHELESS, students like me, move to engineering buildings, not for a high cgpa, but for indulging the brain in some creative aspects. Then this category of people, whom I am talking about, understands a simple reality that a high cgpa matters. To achieve this, mugging the skilled notes and mastering the basic applications are enough. Yes, I am talking about the skilled notes, in the sense the skill of taking notes. Therefore, the series of diagrams, short questions, long questions, Short notes, and bunch of formula, simple formula driven numerical and nights of mugging stuff comes into picture
we give more than a half of our time to engineering curriculum. In return, if luck favors and teacher checks liberally, people get a 9 point out of their burning candles. However, the sanity in real sense is missing. Those who have ability to think hard, they get no hard work to think for, but just to do and learn. No doubt, the knowledge is a precious thing we acquire in the institute, but the burning desire of enjoying mind to its fullest is dump inside the dustbin of the mind. I miss the mechanics numerical I did during my preparation for these institutes. Never ever, I got the chance to play so abysmally with my brain in curriculum.
So hard thinkers have the hard time as they have to camouflage or transform them selves to be a hard 'quick thing' getter(I can write 3 to 4 pages of short-note about a topic here , without actually knowing what the combinations of words are actually up to). In addition, few people who like both learning and thinking ... remains Unsatisfied.
Ok let us consider learning the stuff, which teachers are teaching only. 40 classes for 1 hour for a subject of more than 1000 pages. (Mind you, it is not a fiction or a non-fiction, these are concepts to keep in mind and learn). Therefore, people think it can be easy. Easy? 280 hours and 7000 pages of rigorous concepts. (Ya, ya... 7 subjects, I am talking about). It could have been, but not when we are in actually not purveyed with the total knowledge. As every body knows, whatever we are learning is the course of longer duration. Whatever, the bottom line is whatever we get is an outer outlook of the subject, we are taught. We can verify this during viva, when some in depth concept is ask. so frankly speaking, the knowledge we think to acquire is not achieve neither the mind works prevails. In addition, people become busy in this hollowness of subject only, as matter of fear of losing grades. So time for creative analysis, also vanish.
Engineers coming out of the bricks remain unsatisfied and wagering, as their dreams and ideas are burn inside their body. Just have their body intact.

after reading this blog ,i completely agree that i was going through the same phase which the writer wants to convey , i think that every one except iitians are going through the same situation.its because there is no institute in india other than iit which gives quality technical education, so every student other than iitians are having the same fate.
All right i see that u have some admirers but you are citing the same old story .It not only reflects personal complex for a society but also ready to give up attitude.
I am not completely disagreeable to your observation but i see that this is no positive thinking.
Man who come up to some level have to work hard. Its worthy to mention against odds.
you speak of just mugging up thing not not getting the concept but let me ask you or rather us how much time do we really devote for the concepts and intricacies .hardly any!
then why blame others when we are not awake.
you call yourself a Monk but do you toil as much time they do for their
enlightenment.
We peolpe just know how to complain
not be a part of solution. You talk of this on going tend of different colleges but when you know that its wrong why do you follow it.
Now thats where the leadership quality ,creativity and of course
self growth will come into picture in place of your cgpa.
You are not the only breed who are
doing the job in limited time even the iitian do it in same time.Do they not have back papers?
What keeps them up is their determination and most importantly
willingness to succeed .
I have read it somewhere that it if one has a strong will and persistent never care for odds but finds way out for him and for other.
that's what sets leaders' apart from others.
i think i had much for the first time.
But thanx for the thought!
my anonymous friend...
It not only reflects personal complex for a society but also ready to give up attitude.
1>I am unsatisfied, agreed. what the personal complex and losing attitude
have to do with it?I dont have such habits and for your information, I am as better as anybody else. Now is this positive attitude ;)
you speak of just mugging up thing not not getting the concept but let me ask you or rather us how much time do we really devote for the concepts and intricacies .hardly any!
2>How much time do you think you get to develop concepts totally besides working hard for exams, and other important extra-curricular activities. And when you spend more than half of your day with teachers who purvey nothing.
3>You say people don't devote time for concepts and hence not develop it. But still they write exams and get good grades and few as much as 9 points. How much fare do you think is this?Do we read Engineering to answer short notes type questions in exam? Or to apply brain in applications of these short-notes which we have studied in book? If at this level I will not call it mugging, then what is it?
you call yourself a Monk but do you toil as much time they do for their enlightenment
enlightenment.
4>I consider myself monk and I have willingness to search for the truth ( i.e realization). I go for it. Urge to think and Urge to learn are my two driving principles.
Now thats where the leadership quality ,creativity and of course
self growth will come into picture in place of your cgpa.
5>Practically ,it is hard to replace cgpa with leadership quality , creativity etc. cgpa is the first thing conspicuous to anybody. It is your first impression. It itself contributes to self growth. High cgpa signifies you as a hard working, responsible and a bit disciplined person who can achieve some minimum targets.
So high cgpa really matters , and keeping first necessary thing first, our studies most of the time tends to become exam oriented.
You are not the only breed who are
doing the job in limited time even the iitian do it in same time.Do they not have back papers?
6> I never meant IITians are God. I think you interpreted wrong somewhere. Those people are in IIT only because they burned some extra candles than us at that span of time. It proves nothing much. These four years are nothing when we take life as a whole
I have read it somewhere that it if one has a strong will and persistent never care for odds but finds way out for him and for other.
that's what sets leaders' apart from others.
7>ya. you have read correct;)
